A man wanted for murder in Manitoba has been arrested in Prince Edward County Friday morning.
Eric Wildman and one yet to be named individual were taken into custody early Friday morning at 444 Massassauga Road near Rossmore.

The 34-year-old was wanted in a homicide investigation in Manitoba RCMP. Forty-year-old Clifford Joseph was last seen Monday June 7, 2021 outside his Stead Manitoba home, northeast of Winnipeg. Police believe he was murdered. The search for Wildman was mainly focused around the area from Winnipeg to the Ontario border.

Around 7:00 p.m. Thursday night, Prince Edward OPP received information that Wildman was at a house in the County, just east of Rossmore.
Prince Edward OPP Media Officer Constable Aaron Miller tells Quinte News that officers were fired upon after arriving at the scene. Shots came from inside the home, but thankfully no one was injured.
The OPP’s Kerry Schmidt says crisis negotiators spent hours talking to those inside the house, and during the 6:00 a.m. hour Friday, two men were apprehended by police.
Wildman will be turned over to the RCMP, but another investigation is now underway involving the East Region Crime Unit of the OPP.

At this time, we do not know what the connection is between the Prince Edward County home and Wildman.
Manitoba RCMP Superintendent Michael Koppang says Wildman has been charged with Unsafe Transportation of a Firearm and Possession of a Prohibited Device without at licence.
More charges are expected.
BELOW IS A RELEASE FROM PRINCE EDWARD OPP FRIDAY MORNING
On Thursday, June 17 shortly before 7:00 p.m., members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received information that an individual wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant was at a residence in Prince Edward County.
The OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team, Canine and OPP Crisis Negotiators executed a warrant at the home early Friday morning.
While officers were attempting to gain entry to the residence they were met with gunfire, fortunately no injuries were sustained.
With the assistance of the crisis negotiators, two individuals surrendered to police.
One of the individuals, Eric WILDMAN, 34 years of age, was taken into custody.
He is currently in the process of being returned to the custody of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
The other individual in currently being questioned and the investigation remains ongoing.
