Man arrested for breaching probation and uttering threats
A 77-year-old man has been arrested for breaching probation and uttering threats, after an incident in Belleville’s east end on Thursday afternoon.
City police stopped the man’s car and arrested him around 1:00 p.m., because he had a warrant out for breaching probation.
Officers say while they were arresting him, he made death threats against them.
The suspect, whose name wasn’t released, was held for a bail hearing on Friday.
Drunk in public arrest
A 29-year-old Belleville man has been arrested after allegedly throwing items around his family’s home and intimidating the people inside.
Belleville Police were called to the west end home around 9:00 p.m. on Thursday and say they found the man outside the home, highly intoxicated and being aggressive.
He was charged with being drunk in public under the Liquor Licence Act and was held until he sobered up.
No other details were released.
