Bay of Quinte MPP Todd Smith will be the new Minister of Energy as Ontario Premier Doug Ford shuffled his cabinet Friday.
Smith, who was previously the Minister of Children, Community and Social Services, spent time as the energy critic when the Liberals were in power.
Northumberland-Peterborough South MPP David Piccini joins Ford’s cabinet as Minister of Environment, replacing Jeff Yurek who was dropped from cabinet.
The premier is also bringing back former Finance Minister Rod Phillips.
Phillips, who left his role as Finance Minister after travelling to St. Barts in December, becomes the new Minister of Long-Term Care.
He replaces Merrillee Fullerton, who is taking over Smith’s previous role as Minister of Children, Community and Social Services.
