The Quinte Economic Development Commission recently helped arrange a special vaccination clinic that helped more than 300 local manufacturing workers get their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
QEDC Chief Executive Officer Chris King says it all came together very quickly after some manufacturers said many of their workers were having problems getting their shots.
King says they spoke with Hastings Prince Edward Health Unit officials who set up dedicated appointments for Belleville and Quinte West manufacturing workers at local clinics on June 12.
Belleville Mayor Mitch Panciuk, says this is a great example of how much the QEDC does for the communities it works with.
“We were able to provide them with names, contact information, number of employees, the shifts that they work in terms of, for scheduling, very quickly. So Chris and his team pulled that all together. It’s a huge example of the value that QEDC does, not just in attracting new businesses, but for our existing businesses.”
It’s hoped second shot clinics for manufacturing workers will also be set up.
