Highway 401 westbound near Colborne was the scene of a tractor trailer fire late Tuesday afternoon.
According to Today’s Northumberland, a tire blew out on a transport hauling a flatbed construction trailer causing it to slam into the median and the cab caught fire.
The driver got out safely.
Cramahe Township and Brighton fire departments responded. The highway was reopened around 9 o’clock Tuesday night.
