The Belleville Police Service responded to 73 calls from June 13, 2021 at 5:00 a.m. to June 14, at 5:00 a.m.
Domestic
On June 13, 2021 at approximately 4:37 p.m., police attended a west end location for a report of a domestic assault. Both the male and the female left prior to police arrival but were located a short time later. The investigation revealed that the female had been assaulted at the hands of her boyfriend. A 22-year-old Belleville man was arrested for assault, assault with a weapon, uttering threats (three counts) and was held for a bail hearing on June 14, 2021. The suspect’s name is not being released in order to protect the victim’s identity.
Breach of the Peace
On June 13, 2021 at 12:56 p.m., police were called to the downtown core for a report of a female causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, police were made aware that the 36-year-old Belleville woman was harassing a delivery driver and was subsequently arrested for breach of the peace. She was later released unconditionally once she was in a better state of mind.
