The City of Belleville lost a well-respected sports figure Friday.
Dave Mills passed away at the age of 74.
Mills was highly influential in the Ontario golf scene.
He was the executive director of Golf Ontario, the chair of the Belleville Sports Hall of Fame, founder of the Bay of Quinte Golf Championship and much more.
He was instrumental in the development of junior golf programs across the province.
In 2010 he was inducted into the Belleville Sports Hall of Fame and in 2016 he was inducted into the Ontario Golf Hall of Fame.
Mills was a beloved figure in Ontario and the Bay of Quinte.
He is survived by his wife Judy and his three children.
