According to international employment firm ManpowerGroup, a “fair or mild” hiring climate will continue in the Quinte region in the months of July, August, and September.
Manpower’s Employment Outlook Survey shows 9% of local employers plan to hire in the third quarter while only 4% expect to have fewer employees. The remaining 87% expect to maintain the status quo as far as numbers of workers goes.
Nationally, the survey of over 1,500 employers shows that 17% expect to increase their workforce while 4% plan to cut back.
Quebec is expected to see more new hires than other parts of the country.
The third quarter of this year is expected to be much better for business than that of last year when the COVID-19 pandemic was taking hold.
