Sunday’s horrific vehicle attack in London, Ontario that killed four people was a topic of discussion Monday night at a meeting of Quinte West council.
Police have said the attack was a hate crime with the victims being Muslims.

“It’s a sad comment on people in our community who have done that to other people simply because they’re different and they don’t like the difference so it’s another sad thing we have to recognize but we all have to be aware of that, we all have to fight hatred with everything we can.”
Mayor Jim Harrison said all people needed to be treated with dignity and respect.
Quinte West council began its meeting with a moment of silence for the Indigenous children found buried in a mass grave at a former British Columbia residential school recently.
