Quinte West council will vote on approving staff to move forward with an application for electric vehicle charging station funding.
The federal government is investing $130 billion in zero emission vehicles and municipal projects can receive up to 50% funding or up to $5,000 per charging station.
Staff have proposed charging stations throughout Quinte West. If funding is approved there would be stations built before the end of 2021 at Trenton Arena, the OPP Station, Fire Hall Station One, and two at the Operations Centre and the Trenton Wastewater Treatment Plant.
In 2022 there are stations proposed for Frankford Arena, Batawa Community Centre, YMCA, Centennial Park Amphitheatre and Tucker’s Corners.
