COVID-19 case numbers in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties are continuing their sharp drop while vaccination numbers continue to accelerate.
Since Saturday, May 29 there have been just four new cases of COVID-19 reported in HPE including five total days in the past week with zero new cases reported.
Last Saturday there were 28 active cases in the region.
As of Friday, there are just four.
There were also just six new Variant of Concern cases identified in HPE during the past week.
There are currently five people in hospital with two in the Intensive Care Unit and one on a ventilator.
On the vaccination front, there were 11,023 total vaccine doses administered since last Saturday. That includes 1,898 people who got their second doses and an additional 9,125 people who got their first.
To date, 56% of the population have had their first dose and 6% of the population are fully vaccinated.
