The construction business in Prince Edward County continued its upward trend in the month of May.
Last month, there were 96 building permits issued for a value of of $17.7 million.
In May of last year there were 71 permits issued with a value of just over $14 million.
Permits for 20 new houses valued at almost $11 million were issued last month.
In the first five months of this year permits have been issued worth a total of almost $54 million in construction value.
For all of 2021 the total was only a little over $35 million.
