Thursday morning brought the first substantial rainfall in a long time for the Quinte region.
CFB Trenton reports during the morning hours, about 13 millimetres fell.
To put that in perspective, only 18.8 millimetres fell in all of May.
Staff Meteorologist Kevin Williams spoke to The Morning Buzz on Rock 107 and says it is no miracle downpours are in the forecast future.
“Very dry to droughtish, it’ not a wet pattern that we’re in. Yes it was very wet this morning (Thursday), but over the next seven days, most of the time will be rain free. This is what I’ll call drought denting dampness, but it is not dry spell elevating dampness however.”
Lower Trent Conservation has put their watersheds in a Level One Low Water Condition, while Quinte Conservation is meeting with officials and could be following suit early next week.
