The MPP for Bay of Quinte riding is liking what he’s seeing as far as COVID-19 numbers are concerned.
Todd Smith says that across the province, the number of people in intensive care units is trending down as is the positivity rate … statistics the government is watching closely as it determines when Phase One of an economic reopening can occur.
The province had previously stated it would probably be June 14 before Phase One would begin.
“I think we’re probably trending ahead of that schedule, so I’m hopeful we’ll have an update next week. Cabinet is meeting today to discuss those types of things.”
The provincial government has lifted its Stay at Home Order but restrictions on business continue to apply.
