A bright LED billboard showing a dour local MPP under the headline “46,000 autistic kids left behind. Todd Smith: All Talk NO ACTION” wasn’t seen for long Tuesday in Belleville.
For unknown reasons the billboard at the intersection of North Front Street and Bell Boulevard was removed after a few hours.
It was put up by the Ontario Autism Coalition, an organization unhappy with the way the provincial government provides services for autistic children.
Last year Smith as the Minister of Children, Community and Social Services, announced the doubling of the budget for autism services to $600 million from $300 million and a phased rollout of a needs based program to serve more children and families.
The Ontario Autism Coalition is holding a media event in Belleville Saturday.
