The month of May saw a sharp decline in COVID-19 cases and a sharp increase in vaccinations in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties.
From May 1 to May 28 there were 196 new cases of the virus reported, down from 409 in the same time span in April.
There were also two COVID-19 related deaths reported in the past four weeks, bringing the total to 11.
The total number of vaccines administered in the past four weeks is 29,717 with 3,365 people having gotten their second doses.
The best news of the month came last Friday: 50% of the adult population in the HPE Public Health Unit region have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
