New cases of COVID-19 are continuing to drop in the Hastings Prince Edward public health region.
Since Saturday, May 22, there have been 31 new cases reported, down from 49 in the previous week.
As of Friday, there have been 91,330 total doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in HPE with 7,960 added in the last week.
Active cases have fallen as well with just 32 total on Friday compared to 43 last Saturday.
Friday was a milestone day in the region as the public health unit confirmed 50% of all residents over 18 have had at least one dose of vaccine.
Also in the past week there were 706 more people who received their second dose for a total of 7,412.
Hospitalizations are also down. As of Friday there are six people in hospital with the virus including three in the Intensive Care Unit and one on a ventilator.
Last Saturday there were 11 in hospital with six in the ICU and six on ventilators.
