Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is reporting seven new cases of COVID-19 in the area today and five recoveries, leaving a total of 38 active.
Three of the new cases were found in Belleville, two were found in the Deseronto area, with one each in Centre Hastings and North Hastings.
Three cases have been linked to close contact, two are connected to local spread, with one case related to travel and one transmission cause pending.
As of Thursday afternoon, six people were in hospital locally due to the virus, with two in the ICU and one on a ventilator.
The last remaining outbreak in the area has been declared over as well.
The health unit’s dashboard shows 56.5% of residents in HPE have received at least a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, with 4% fully vaccinated.
The HKPR Health Unit has yet to update it’s numbers for cases in Northumberland County today.
