Trenton Golden Hawks Head Coach Peter Goulet has been nominated for a national honour.
Goulet is one of five nominees for the Canadian Junior Hockey League’s coach of the year.
The award is named in honour of late Humboldt Broncos Head Coach Darcy Haugan and Assistant Coach Mark Cross, who died in the tragic bus crash in 2018.
Goulet guided the G-Hawks through an unprecedented pandemic-shortened season, which included an exhibition series win and a series loss to the Wellington Dukes, as well as a pair of victories over the Lindsay Muskies.
The other finalists are:
• Pier-Alexandre Poulin, Condors du Cégep Beauce-Appalaches (LHJAAAQ)
• Brad MacKenzie, Grand Falls Rapids (MHL)
• Tyson Ramsey, Virden Oil Capitals (MJHL)
• Corey Beer, Timmins Rock (NOJHL)
