Hospice Quinte is expanding its caregiver support program with the help of a provincial grant.
The $25,000 gift from the provincial government’s Ontario Senior Community Grant Program is allowing Hospice Quinte to offer a pilot program featuring supportive counselling services for caregivers to assist those who are caring for a terminally ill loved one.
This program is in addition to their existing peer support program.
Jennifer May-Anderson, Executive Director of Hospice Quinte is incredibly thankful for the grant saying they have seen a rise in caregiver burnout and the need for supportive counselling during the COVID-19 pandemic
The pilot program ends on June 30.
