The Rotary Club of Picton, in partnership with The Rotary Club of Wellington, the Kiwanis Club of Picton, Picton Kinsmen, 99.3 County FM, Tim Hortons and Picton Home Hardware, are seeing to it that health care workers in Prince Edward County feel appreciated and supported as they battle the third wave of COVID-19.
Joining forces to launch the ‘Apricot Ribbon Program’ these local service clubs and businesses are asking the community to help them publicly thank our local health care teams.
Starting at Quinte Health Care Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital, representatives on behalf of the Apricot Ribbon Program and the Rotary Club of Picton presented each staff member with a letter of appreciation and a Tim Hortons gift card.
“We are indebted to the staff at our County hospital who have worked tirelessly to help keep our community safe and healthy during these challenging times” said John Clarke, president of Picton Rotary. “This small token of appreciation is our way of showing support for the stellar work of our health care teams. We thank all the health care workers who everyday are entrusted to providing care to our family, friends and neighbours.”
Apricot coloured ribbons will be available for County residents and businesses to tie to trees, porches and store fronts to symbolize support for staff impacted by COVID-19.
The public is encouraged to nominate and/or provide a testimonial to recognize health care workers in the County. Nominations are now open and can be made by contacting the Rotary Club of Picton at pictonrotary@gmail.com or though the Club’s Facebook page, @PictonRotary. Please include the name of the person you are nominating, their place of work and a brief testimonial.
