There was a heavy police presence in the Town of Deseronto Victoria Day afternoon.
According to sources in Deseronto, OPP and Tyendinaga police officers turned up in numbers and spent some time searching properties on St. George and Mill Streets.
Officers were searching for a male suspect alleged to have assaulted two people who were taken to hospital in Napanee for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The search continued at press time. No other detail is available.
