Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is reporting five new cases of COVID-19 Saturday as well as 10 recoveries for an active total of 43 cases.
Three of the new cases are in Quinte West, one is in North Hastings and one is in Belleville.
Four of the new cases are attributed to close contact and the remaining one is due to local spread.
The HPE Public Health COVID-19 dashboard says there are 11 people hospitalized with six in the ICU and six on ventilators.
There have been 10 additional Variant of Concern cases identified for a total of 460 since the pandemic began with 28 of them currently active.
To date there have been 83,370 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered with 6,706 people, or 4% of the population, having received their second dose.
In Northumberland County, the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit is reporting one new case of COVID-19 Saturday for a total of 34 active cases.
