Bay of Quinte golf legend Betty Ingram has passed away at the age of 97.
It was one year ago today the Belleville Sports Hall of Famer led an eager group of 20 women off the tee at the Opening Field Day at the Bay of Quinte Golf and Country Club.
With the exception of recent surgery Ingram remained active. She holds 30 ladies club championships at the Bay of Quinte Club as well as the Ontario Senior Amateur champion in 1975. In 1981 Ingram was runner-up at the Canadian Senior Ladies Championship.
Ingram was a member of the inaugural class of the Belleville Sports Hall of Fame in 1987.
