The President of Loyalist College says recent data around student employment is great news, however there is still work to do.
Dr. Ann Marie Vaughan spoke to Quinte News after the school topped a list of eastern Ontario colleges in graduate employment rate.
“It’s incredible and I think it’s a real reflection of how well prepared graduates are for their careers. That’s made possible because of the experience they have at Loyalist.”
Loyalist College showed a graduate employment rate of 88.8% within six months of leaving the college.
That is number one in eastern Ontario, and tied for fourth among Ontario’s 24 colleges.
A survey of employers showed Loyalist College had an employer satisfaction rate of 100%,
“What it is is reflective of their Loyalist College experience, that obviously has resulted in jobs for our graduates, but also employer satisfaction.”
Vaughan says they do want to increase their graduation rate of 64.2% of students, 19th in the province. The provincial average is 66.4%.
