Criminal activity in the City of Belleville was lower in the first three months of the year, when compared to the same period in 2020.
A report to the Belleville Police Services Board on Thursday indicated the Belleville Police Service dealt with 839 crime calls in the first quarter, down significantly from 1,157 last year.
Crime was down in almost all categories including break and enters, assaults, sex and drug offences, and fraud.
On a negative note there were two homicides in the first quarter, compared to none in 2020.
