The Chief of Police for the City of Belleville has joined another chief in the region hoping for change in the justice system
Chief Mike Callaghan echoed the recent comments by Cobourg Chief Paul Vandegraaf as he told the Belleville Police Board on Thursday that at times it seems the judicial system is working against the police and the general public
Callaghan said it’s tough for officers to watch on, as suspects arrested on drug charges in the morning are set free by the court in the afternoon.
The chief hopes changes will come sooner rather than later.
