New cases of COVID-19 in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties are continuing to trend downward.
Since Saturday, May 8, there have been 55 new cases of COVID-19 reported by HPE Public Health, down from 61 the previous week.
There were, however, more Variant of Concern cases identified this week for a total of 60.
The previous week there were only 42.
As of Friday, May 14 there have been 411 identified in the area.
In the past week there were 5,208 more doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered with 604 additional people being fully vaccinated.
To date, there have been 71,680 doses of vaccine administered.
As of Friday there are 17 people in hospital with seven people in the ICU and five people on ventilators.
