BELLEVILLE – The City of Belleville is currently accepting applications for the Community Improvement Plan spring intake and will continue to do so until 4:30 p.m. on Monday, May 31.
While the City offers an excellent quality of life for its residents, there are opportunities for the City to build on its strengths while addressing its weaknesses in order to work towards its long-term vision. A Community Improvement Plan is a mechanism which allows the City to direct funds towards specific projects that encourage rehabilitation and/or development to meet specific goals. The City of Belleville Community Improvement Plan (C.I.P.) provides an opportunity for the City to encourage responsible and sustainable growth through support for development and redevelopment which fits within the context of the vision. The intention of the C.I.P. is to reduce the costs of projects which include:
-
affordable rental housing units
-
second units in houses
-
Brownfield projects
-
downtown residential and façade improvements
Applications will be evaluated at the City’s discretion to the limit of available funding, provided all eligible criteria and conditions are met for each program.
Those interested in learning more about the requirements of the application process are encouraged to review the Community Improvement Plan on the City website.
