The Belleville Police Service responded to 57 calls from May 11, 2021 at 5:00 a.m. to May 12, 2021 at 5:00 a.m.
Liquor Licence Act
On May 11, 2021, at approximately 6:53 p.m., police reeived multiple calls from concerned citizens regarding a male stumbling around in the west end of the city. Officers arrived in the area where the male was last seen and quickly located him and determined that he was heavily intoxicated due to the consumption alcoholic beverages. A 25-year-old Belleville man, was arrested for his own safety for being intoxicated in a public place. He was kept at the police station until he was able to care for himself. He was later released on a provincial offence notice for being intoxicated in a public place.
Suspicious Vehicle
On May 11, 2021, at approximately 8:22 p.m., police were called to a north end location for a report of a suspicious vehicle from multiple callers. When officers located the vehicle, they attempted to conduct a traffic stop to identify the driver and to discuss the complaints. The vehicle did not stop for police and took off at a high rate of speed. The vehicle eventually made its way to the 401 as police quickly terminated the pursuit for the safety of the public. The vehicle is described as a white Dodge Caravan with tinted windows. The Belleville Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the male driver.
