(Ridly Greig (#14) scores first professional goal in AHL)
Vitaly Abramov and Egor Sokolov scored in the shootout to cap a 4-3 come from behind win for the Belleville Senators over the Manitoba Moose last night at the Canadian Tire Centre to extend their winning streak to four games.
Abramov, who has just returned from the Ottawa Senators also scored in regulation.
The B-Sens trailed 3-1 after the second period before 18 year old Ridly Greig touched off the comeback with his first goal in professional hockey. Greig was a first round pick by Ottawa in 2020 and played for the Western Hockey League’s Brandon Wheat Kings this season where he scored 10 goals and 22 assists in 21 games.
It was Greig’s sixth game with Belleville with four played prior to the start of the WHL season. He says the B-Sens got better as the game went along.
Cole Cassels notched the tying goal mid way in the third.
Belleville coach Troy Mann says they made some adjustments during the second intermission.
Goaltender Mads Sogaard is now 4-0 since joining Belleville two weeks ago. He stopped 37 shots. Moose goalie Mikhail Berdin stopped 25.
Adam Brubacher, Nathan Todd and C.J. Suess scored for Manitoba.
The B-Sens and Moose meet again Friday night in Ottawa. (7pm on CJBQ)
