Belleville police have charged a Belleville man following a stabbing and standoff at a residence on Cannifton Road North early last Friday (May 7).
Police first responded to reports a man had been stabbed around 1:30 a.m.
That man was taken to hospital in Kingston for treatment, and remains there in stable condition.
Police found a suspect quickly but the person would not leave the residence.
The Emergency Response Unit closed off the neighbourhood, and after negotiations, a suspect surrendered around 9 a.m.
Facing aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon, and mischief under $5,000 charges is 28-year-old Dustin James Kinmond.
Kinmond is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
