There were 17 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Hastings and Prince Edward counties Saturday.
The new cases meant a milestone of sorts was reached as there have now been 1,004 cases of coronavirus in the two counties since the pandemic began last spring.
With 10 recoveries there are now 81 active cases.
Of the new cases, nine were located in Belleville, three each in Centre and North Hastings, and two in Quinte West.
Seven of the new cases were caused by Variants of Concern and 17 people remain in hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile in Northumberland County, six new cases were confirmed Saturday leaving 32 active there.
