Community Grants enrich life in Prince Edward County
Picton, ON – Twenty-three organizations will receive funding and in-kind support through the 2021 Municipal Community Grant Program.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has deeply impacted non-profit, community groups. Despite the challenges, staff and volunteers adjusted admirably in order to continue serving others,” Mayor Steve Ferguson says. “We deeply appreciate the work these groups do across the community, and we welcome the opportunity to support their efforts through the Municipal Community Grant Program.” The County Foundation in partnership with the municipality administers the grant program, which has two streams: Grants under $5,000 and Grants over $5,000. A full list of this year’s recipients is provided below. “The continued demand, innovative projects, and community initiatives make for an interesting process. 2021 applications were generally of a high quality and the pan-County adjudication panel had to make some very difficult decisions with respect to maximizing community impact,” says Jefferson Gilbert, Executive Director of The County Foundation. “We’re thrilled to have funded 23 applications and look forward to seeing the outcomes of these applications in the community.” In addition to accepting the 2021 grant recommendations, County Council recently approved changes to the grant program for 2022:
