More charges have been laid against controversial Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston MPP Randy Hillier.
Hillier confirmed to Quinte News Thursday that he has been charged by Belleville Police under the Reopening Ontario Act for his role in an anti-lockdown rally held at Zwick’s Park on April 16.
The charges were for being an organizer of an event contrary to the Act and being an organizer of an event with over 25 people present.
If found guilty of the charges Hillier could face a fine ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 and jail time is possible.
Another unnamed organizer faces the same charges.
A court appearance is scheduled for July 5. Hillier has been charged and/or handed tickets in several communities for his attendance at anti-lockdown events.
