A few weeks ago Donna and Brad Ashley decided it was time to sell the Bayview Family Golf Centre on Old Highway 2 West.
One day later it had new owners.
The Ashleys have owned the nine-hole par 3 course, which includes a driving range and mini putt, for 15 years. Donna says the decision to sell was made on a whim and drew multiple offers immediately.
The new owners are local businessmen Nick Enright, Brian Rhodes and Brandon McLean, who leaves his position as Director of Golf and Head Professional at the neighbouring Bay of Quinte Golf and Country Club.
McLean has done extensive work with junior players and says the Bayview Golf Centre is perfect to attract young people and beginners to the game. McLean was recognized as one of the top 50 golf instructors in Canada last year.
Among other improvements, McLean says upgrades to the driving range will be made immediately.
He adds that there was a 35% increase in golf in Ontario last year with more than 32,000 rounds during the shortened season at Bay of Quinte alone.
The new owners of Bayview take possession today.
