It cost Brighton council a little over $300,000 last year to cover extra expenses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
But luckily the provincial government provided Brighton with over $326,000 to help with pandemic-related expenses.
That turned out to be enough to allow a small surplus of around $17,000 which was transferred to a reserve account.
Pandemic costs include retrofitting buildings, extra cleaning, and the purchase of Personal Protective Equipment .
Also last year the Municipality of Brighton lost around $170,000 in expected revenues.
