Coming soon to the Municipality of Brighton will be a Curbside Giveaway Day.
Brighton council approved a motion from Councillors Anderson and Vink that residents should
have the opportunity to get rid of unwanted but still useable items by simply giving them away
to anyone wanting them.
Anything not taken would have to go back inside at day’s end.
Curbside Giveaway Days, seen as an environmentally friendly green event, are gaining in popularity
throughout Ontario.
Council has asked staff to bring a report back on the logistics of holding such a day and council will
discuss a date for a curbside giveaway day at that time.
