The province’s Special Investigations Unit has terminated an investigation into the arrest of a 45-year-old man in Napanee in September of 2020.
The SIU was not notified of the interaction until March 4.
On September 23, OPP officers attempted to apprehend the man at his workplace.
The man fled and was ultimately arrested at an apartment on Dundas Street in Napanee.
The man alleged that he sustained fractures as a result of the interaction, thus the SIU invoked its mandate.
SIU Director Joseph Martino says the investigation has been discontinued as the man’s medical records confirm his injuries were limited to soft tissue injuries and do not amount to “serious injuries” within the terms of the SIU’s mandate.
