Since April 1, Quinte Health Care has admitted 48 COVID patients, including 18 in the ICU.
On Tuesday, QHC CEO Stacey Daub and Chief of Staff Dr. Colin MacPherson gave an update on the status of the hospital during this third wave of the pandemic.
Nineteen of those admitted COVID patients have been from out of the region with nine of them requiring care in the ICU.
Seven out-of-area patients have already been discharged back home.
Three people have died from the virus at QHC since April 1, two of them local and one from elsewhere.
Fifty-four people with the virus have also visited QHC emergency rooms during the last month.
