Domestic Assault
On April 24, 2021 at 11:25 p.m., police responded to a domestic disturbance. Police had been at the residence earlier in the evening regarding a loud music complaint and they had been called back regarding a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victim who reported that she had been punched in the face by her partner and pushed to the ground. Her partner, a 32-year-old Belleville resident was arrested and charged with one count of domestic assault. The accused was held for a bail hearing on April 25, 2021. The victim suffered minor injuries.
Arrested on warrants
At midnight on April 25, 2021, police observed a male dancing and yelling in the parking lot of the police station. Officers approached the male in the parking lot, and they were familiar with him. The male, 33-year-old Bruce Cooney of Belleville, was known to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for breach of probation. Cooney was advised of his warrant and attempted to flee the area. Cooney was arrested, and walked back to the station where he was later released with a May 27, 2021 court date.
