Belleville City Council will have a project before it for final approval that has been in the works for close to a decade.
It is called the Dockside Quinte Plan Subdivision and was first introduced to city council in November 2014.
The project calls for three buildings with commercial space, along with 302 residential apartment units along the water, at the former Morch Marine property (25 Dundas St West).
Those living or visiting the property will be able to enter the complex off Old Bay Bridge Road by the Ramada Hotel.
It will include new landscaping, private roads and surface parking, along with a new marina.

Bay of Quinte MP Neil Ellis was mayor of Belleville when the project first came forward. He says getting more residential units, whether they be condos, apartments, homes, or affordable housing, is a win.
“With all the development in downtown and around the area, this is going to be a great project. There’s been other condos that have announced for the Hotel Quinte property. This is something that councils have tried to do and get people downtown over the last 20 or 30 years.”
“When we consider that we have an apartment building going up on Dundas, a senior complex, this really is a complement to our downtown. If we can build 300 units down at water level, which is a gold mine.”
” It’s the waterfront, it’s the downtown core. The old Quinte Hotel property has been resold for development, there’s interest down there. You take all the condos that went up in Century Place and how short they were available. All the interest on our downtown waterfront. Our downtown is waterfront prime for development in whatever small area that we have. This is a boost for our city.”
