A 22-year-old Prince Edward County man has been arrested after OPP were called to investigate a disturbance in Picton this past weekend.
Officers were called to Upper Lake Street, around 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, where a person had been hit with a wooden stake and suffered minor injuries.
Police say the injured person was arrested, but then taken to hospital for treatment, allegedly assaulting some staff members in the emergency department.
Andrew Smith is charged with three counts of assault and one count each of assault with a weapon, assault with intent to resist arrest, mischief under $5,000, mischief over $5,000 and assaulting a peace officer.
