(Parker Kelly #27 congratulated by teammates after his short handed goal gave Belleville a 3-0 lead)
The Belleville Senators are finding their first trip to Calgary’s Saddledome to their liking.
The B-Sens jumped out to a 4-1 lead through two periods and held on to beat the Stockton Heat 4-2 for the second night in a row. Parker Kelly’s short-handed goal early in the second made it 3-0 and was the game winner. Kelly liked the B-Sens’ effort.
B-Sens coach Troy Mann liked his team’s effort but felt the power play could have made a bigger difference in the game.
Cole Reinhardt, J.C. Beaudin and rookie Igor Sokolov with his 11th of the season rounded out the Senators’ scoring. Rookie goaltender Kevin Mandolese faced 26 shots with 16 of those in the third period as the Heat tried to get back in the game. Dmitri Zavgorodniy and Glenn Gawdin scored for Stockton.
Belleville wraps up their three-game series against Stockton and their eight-game road trip tomorrow afternoon at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
