Building statistics in Brighton saw a significant increase in March, mostly due to the beginning of work on a new retirement residence.
Twenty-two building permits worth $50.7 million were issued last month.
In comparison, February saw 17 permits worth just over $2 million issued.
Of the $50.7 million, the three-storey 124-unit building, to be known as Brighton Retirement Living accounted for $48 million.
The Main Street facility is expected to be open by fall of next year.
