Prince Edward County is closing the Prince Edward Dog Park.
The municipality, on the recommendation of the Picton Animal Hospital is making the decision to close the Delhi Park site, due to a rise in respiratory illness among dogs.
Officials say the dog park will remain closed for 14 weeks, when things will be reevaluated.
Dogs with a hacking cough could be lethargic, but are likely to recover well, however in some cases dogs may stop eating and develop an eye or nose discharge, which could lead to an pneumonia.
