EASTER WEEKEND IN REVIEW FOR CENTRAL HASTINGS
April 2 – 5, 2021
(Madoc, ONTARIO) – During the long Easter weekend of April 2-5, 2021, there were 81 calls for service and 125 Highway Traffic Act enforcements for the Central Hastings OPP.
Central Hastings OPP officers investigated one sudden death, one mental health call, two motor vehicle collisions, three family disputes, and eight traffic complaints as well as conducting six R.I.D.E. programs.
TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN IMPAIRED CHARGES
(TWEED, ON) – On Sunday, April 4, 2021 at approximately 3:15 a.m., members of the Central Hastings OPP were on mobile patrol in Tweed when they conducted a traffic stop in relation to Highway Traffic enforcement.
As a result, Ian PUNAB, age 42 of Tweed was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with Operation while Impaired. PUNAB was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Disobey Stop Sign and Novice Driver with B.A.C above zero .
The accused was released on an undertaking with a scheduled appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on April 22, 2021.
