On March 30, 2021 shortly after 9:00 p.m., officers from the Bancroft OPP observed a motor vehicle crossing the centre line and driving on the shoulder on Highway 62 in the Town of Bancroft.
The vehicle was stopped and an approved screening device was utilized on the driver.
The driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.
During the investigation, the driver provided an identity that did not belong to him.
Shane BARR, 34 years old of Trenton, Ontario has been charged with the criminal offences of:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration – 80 plus
- Obstruct Peace Officer
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft, Ontario on April 13, 2021 in relation to the criminal charges.
