Hastings Prince Edward Public Health reported 19 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday.
There have been eight recoveries since Monday’s report, leaving 148 active cases.
The HPE Public Health dashboard indicates eight of the new cases are in Belleville, seven are in Quinte West, while another three were found in Central Hastings and one was identified in the County.
Close contact is named as the cause of eight cases with local spread causing two and the causes of the nine other cases pending.
A total of 67 variant cases (an increase of six) have now been identified within the two counties.
Four cases remain in hospital with one person in ICU (a decrease of one since Monday) and no one on a ventilator.
A fifth active outbreak has been declared.
One case of the virus has been reported at Richmond Retirement Residence in Belleville.
The seven day case rate per 100,000 people is 79.5.
35,202 doses of vaccine have been administered with 2,234 people considered fully vaccinated.
There were 41 new cases reported Tuesday in Northumberland.
This was the HKPR Health Unit‘s first report since Saturday.
Active cases are up to 63 while 11 cases have been resolved since their last report
