“So we haven’t gone directly out to do individual immunization in people’s homes but it’s on our list and if public health directs us to go and do those, we will.”
Socha added, “The rationale for why they’re targeting retirement homes and congregate settings is there are more people that are obviously interacting with other people. Somebody who’s at their home is for the most part probably being isolated.”
“So while important, they’re focussing right now on areas that are having multiple people in contact with each other or a higher risk of that.”
When asked how the paramedics themselves are doing during this pandemic year, Socha replied, “They’re tired. Certainly very tired. But you know I think it just shows the level of dedication that everybody has. Certainly it’s been a long year and we keep looking for paths and ways to try and get through all this (pandemic).”
